Oliver Theophilus Jones, born September 11, 1934, in Montreal, Quebec, is one of Canada's most revered jazz pianists. Raised in the vibrant jazz hub of Little Burgundy, he began playing piano at the age of five. He was a protégé and close friend of Oscar Peterson, sharing a remarkable virtuosity and expressiveness at the keyboard.

Jones's career spanned several decades, taking him from Montreal clubs to international stages. After years of honing his craft and accompanying various artists, he truly emerged on the global jazz scene in the 1980s with a series of acclaimed albums on Justin Time Records.
