Exsonvaldes is a French indie rock band formed in the early 2000s, known for their sophisticated melodies and elegant approach to indie pop, often drawing comparisons to Anglo-Saxon acts.

Formed in Paris in the early 2000s, Exsonvaldes quickly established themselves as a leading figure in the French indie rock scene. Initially composed of Antoine Pesle (vocals, guitar), Martin Chourrout (drums), and Guillaume Leon (bass), the band developed a distinctive sound characterized by meticulous vocal harmonies, precise guitars, and melodic arrangements. Their music, though primarily sung in English, garnered a loyal following in France and internationally.

Their discography began with the Sometime, Anywhere EP in 2004, laying the groundwork for their elegant and melancholic style. The self-titled debut album, Exsonvaldes, followed in 2006, solidifying their reputation. The band continued to evolve with albums such as Near The Edge Of Something Beautiful (2009), which introduced richer sonic textures, and Maps (2013), praised for its sharp songwriting and refined production. Simon Beaudoux later joined on guitar and keyboards, further enriching their sound palette.

Exsonvaldes is known for their energetic live performances and precise execution, which faithfully convey the complexity and emotion of their compositions. Their influence is felt in how they blended pop and rock sensibilities with a touch of experimentation, creating a coherent and timeless body of work within the French independent rock landscape. Their most recent album to date, Arches, was released in 2016.
