Louis Aguilar is a French singer-songwriter, known for his melancholic and minimalistic folk compositions. Since his teenage beginnings, he has developed a rich musical universe, marked by Anglo-Saxon influences and a distinctive voice.
Born in 1990, Louis Aguilar began his musical journey at a very young age, learning guitar at 11 and releasing his first self-produced album, Hairly Tales, at 16 in 2007. He quickly established a reputation in the French underground scene with his ethereal and rich folk songs, often compared to artists such as Townes Van Zandt, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, or M. Ward.
Throughout his career, Aguilar has diversified his experiences, opening for renowned artists like Moriarty, Micah P. Hinson, and Devendra Banhart. He has also explored international stages, performing in New York and touring rodeos in the United States, thereby imbuing his music with his travels. Although he once considered a career as a tattoo artist, he has remained dedicated to music, composing for other artists like Pomme and having his work covered by Julien Doré.
His notable discography includes albums such as Old Man Poems (2009), Close Your Eyes, You're Invisible (2011), Oh Boy (2019), and Quand Vient La Nuit (2021). In addition to his solo career, Louis Aguilar is also a member of Weekend Affair, an indie-pop duo. His forthcoming solo album, First Impression, is anticipated for autumn 2025.
