music · ·Le Grand Mix, Tourcoing

PVT is an Australian trio renowned for its unique sonic exploration, blending experimental electronic music with elements of post-rock, indie, and jazz. Their sound is characterized by intricate rhythms and atmospheric soundscapes.

Formed in Sydney in the early 2000s under the name Pivot, the band PVT consists of brothers Richard (keyboards, guitar) and Laurence Pike (drums, percussion), later joined by Dave Miller (bass, keyboards). Their career began with a distinctive instrumental approach, blending the power of post-rock with the precision of electronics and jazz influences.

Their debut album, Make Me Love You (2005), followed by O Soundtrack My Heart (2008), established their reputation for complex and dynamic compositions. In 2010, with the release of their third album, Church With No Magic, the band officially adopted the name PVT. This change marked an evolution in their sound, incorporating more vocals and a more electronic pop aesthetic, while retaining their experimental signature.

Subsequent albums, Homosapien (2013) and New Spirit (2017), continued to refine their sonic identity, exploring themes of humanity and technology with consistently innovative production. PVT is celebrated for its ability to create music that is both cerebral and emotional, defying genre conventions and offering an immersive auditory experience.
