Dèche Dans Face is a Bordeaux-based duo active since 1995, known for its noise psychobilly style. The band is notably famous for being one of the few French acts to sign with the legendary American label Sub Pop.

Formed in Bordeaux in 1995, Dèche Dans Face is a duo comprising Jérôme Nivelle on guitar, vocals, and harmonica, and Nicolas on drums. The band quickly established itself on the alternative rock scene with an energetic and raw musical approach, blending influences from Johnny Cash, Jon Spencer, Doo Rag, and The Cramps. Their sound is often described as a mix of noise and psychobilly, characterized by frantic rhythms and saturated guitars.

A significant milestone in Dèche Dans Face's career was signing with the prestigious Seattle label, Sub Pop, in 1996. This collaboration resulted in the single "Merry Dickmass," making the band one of the few French acts to join the ranks of this legendary label. Their discography also includes the SP "Zouzou (Mother Fuckin'Dog)" (1995), the albums "Kids rockin'" (1997) and "Cool Jazz with a punk attitude" with Belly Button (1997), both released on Vicious Circle, as well as an eponymous EP in 2005.

Beyond Dèche Dans Face, Jérôme Nivelle also explored other musical projects, notably playing with Miossec and releasing several self-produced albums under the name Dècheman. The duo's legacy lies in its ability to fuse diverse influences to create a unique sound, leaving its mark on the late 90s French rock scene with its originality and energy.
